Minimum deposit slots, and what £1 really buys
Low minimum deposits let you try a site for the price of a coffee. They also come with some of the tightest terms in the industry. Here is what a £1, £3 or £5 deposit actually gets you once the conditions are read.

The advertised minimum often applies to one payment method only. We note which one.
Stake maths
£5 at 10p a spin is fifty spins. We work out how long each deposit tier realistically lasts.
Withdrawal minimums
Many sites take £1 deposits and enforce a £10 or £20 withdrawal floor. That gap matters.
Check these on any low-deposit site
- The minimum for your specific payment method
- The minimum withdrawal amount, not just the deposit
- Whether a bonus attaches automatically, and whether it can be declined
- Maximum stake permitted while a bonus is active
- Any fee applied to small withdrawals
Where small deposits go wrong
The most common trap is a mismatch between deposit and withdrawal minimums. Depositing £1 is easy; getting £4 back out often is not, because the site will not process a withdrawal below £10. In practice that turns a small trial deposit into money you must keep gambling until it either grows or disappears.
The second issue is bonus wagering. A matched bonus on a £5 deposit with 40x wagering means £200 of turnover before anything can be withdrawn, which at low stakes takes hours and, at typical RTP, usually ends at zero. For small deposits the bonus is frequently worse than no bonus at all.
Frequently asked questions
Can you really play slots with £1?
Yes. At a site with a £1 minimum and 10p spins that is ten spins — enough to see the game, not enough to expect a result.
Are low deposit casinos worse?
Not by definition. A low minimum is a marketing choice; judge the site on licence, withdrawal terms and RTP as usual.
Should I take the bonus on a small deposit?
Usually not. Wagering requirements scale with the bonus, and clearing 35–40x on a few pounds rarely ends well.
